Rita de Oliveira
Associate Professor at the London South Bank University
Rita is an Associate Professor in Sport and Exercise Psychology at London South Bank University, UK. Her work takes an ecological approach to investigate how individuals across the lifespan and abilities perceive and act in their environment. I apply this situated approach to understand exercise engagement in different populations but also to the use of constraints to train visual perception in sportspeople.
Previously, she was a researcher in Sport and Exercise Psychology at the Royal Holloway University of London, and at the German Sport University. Rita’s training was at the VU University Amsterdam and the Faculty of Human Kinetics in Lisbon.
As the General Secretary for the European Federation of Sport Psychology (FEPSAC), Rita is involved in the EUPAG-DS European project (European Physical Activity Guidelines to Tackle Depressive Symptoms) and supports further FEPSAC applications.
