2023 marks the beginning of an era with the first European Sport Congress.
This year’s presidency brings together the Municipality of Gijón, representing the hosting city, the University of Oviedo as the academic partner and the Spanish Olympic Committee as the sport partner.

The University of Oviedo is a public institution of higher education and research in the Principality of Asturias with over 400 years of history. Campuses are spread over Oviedo, Gijón and Mieres, in addition to offering various university services in Avilés. It hosts over 25.000 students and 2.000 lecturers and researchers.

Spanish Olympic Committee
The Spanish Olympic Committee was created in 1902 and is the responsible body for Spain's participation in the Olympic Games. They represent 34 Olympic sports federations and 27 non-Olympic ones, encompassing over 14.000 athletes. Together with the Spanish National Sports Council, the COE also provides training for athletes, ex-athletes, coaches, technical directors, and members of the different national federations and clubs.
