Dr. Marko Begović is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Sport in Belgrade. Between 2021 and 2022 he served as Director in charge of sport and youth affairs within the Government of Montenegro. In parallel, Dr. Begović acted as Program Director for the Master of Sport Management program.

Previously, Marko Begović worked for various state institutions as an advisor for international affairs and high-performance sport, consultant within NOCs, NSFs and elected positions within the Council of Europe (Task Force on Good Governance in Sport; Taskforce on MMA; Gender Equality Rapporteur and Bureau member).

Marko Begović holds a PhD from the German Sport University in Cologne, where he finalized his MA in Olympic Studies simultaneously with a Graduate Programme in Foreign Policy and Diplomacy at the University of Donja Gorica in Montenegro. Dr. Begović published a number of scholarly papers in reputable journals indexed in the WoS.

He is a former professional tennis player and member of the national teams of Yugoslavia, Serbia and Montenegro, and Davis Cup team of Montenegro.
