Professor at the University of Oviedo

Javier Fernandéz-Rio is a Professor at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of the University of Oviedo. He holds a PhD in Pedagogy, a Master in High-Performance Sports and a Degree in Physical Education. He has worked as a teacher at all educational levels and carried out teaching and/or research stays in different countries, such as the USA, Great Britain, Portugal and Cech Repbluciv. Furthermore, he has spoken at international congresses in Spain, France, Croatia, Mexico and Chile.

Javiel del Rio is co-author of more than a hundred articles published in indexed journals and more than twenty books: he has over 100 articles in JCR-ranked journals and 30 books/chapters.

His lines of research converge in education, physical activity, sport and health. He is currently the director of the area of sports and health at the University of Oviedo.
