Mr. Philippe LAMBLIN
Philippe Lamblin, born in 1954 in Béthune, is a highly respected business and sports leader. He has dedicated his career to leveraging sport for social good, embodying a strong commitment to social inclusion. This philosophy has shaped his work across different sectors, from athletics to employment. His dual identity as a business and sports professional allows him to bridge these two worlds effectively.
Lamblin has a long and impressive history in athletics leadership. Since 1988, he has served as President of the Hauts-de-France Athletics League. From 1997 to 2001, he also held the prestigious position of President of the French Athletics Federation. A visionary event creator, Lamblin founded the Liévin Meeting in 1988. This event has since achieved international acclaim, holding the title of the world’s top indoor athletics meeting for six consecutive years starting in 2021. He also launched other significant events, including the Route du Louvre, a large-scale running and walking event that attracts thousands of participants each year to the Hauts-de-France region.
His professional experience extends beyond sports administration into the corporate world. He led Human Resources and Communications for major corporations like Lesaffre and Avril. This background gives him a unique perspective on managing talent and fostering growth. He now applies this expertise as a Regional Delegate for Employment at the Ministry of Labour.
In this role, he oversees innovative programs that connect sports and employment. One of his flagship initiatives is “From Stadium to Employment.” This program has been held over 1,300 times across France and in three other countries. It uses the structure and discipline of sports to guide individuals toward employment opportunities. He also created 135 BPM, an ambitious regional project. This initiative focuses specifically on training young people for careers within the sports industry itself.
Lamblin’s work has earned him recognition as an Officer of the French National Order of Merit. He stands as a prime example of a leader who uses a bold and inclusive vision to make a tangible impact on society, proving that sport is a powerful tool for empowerment.
